Crime Report: Home Burglarized, Cars Broken Into at Knights of Columbus

A rundown of recent police activity in Lynbrook.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

Jan. 17 - at 2:35am, Gilberto Rivera, 43 of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unsafe lane change and operating without a license plate light on Peninsula Blvd.

Jan. 17 - at 9:00am, Darin M. Sirianni, 39, of Elmont, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt at 1 Columbus Drive.

Jan. 19 - at 10:43pm, Filip A. Radomanczyk, 26, of Bellmore, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana on Sunrise Hwy.

Jan. 20 - at 5:23pm, Nickita Toppin, 24, of Brooklyn, NY was arrested and charged with third degree grand larceny at Citibank, located at 320 Merrick Rd. The defendant deposited a fraudulent check into her personal Citibank account and then started to make ATM withdrawals from her account to obtain the funds. The complainant has sustained a loss in excess of $8,000.

Jan. 21 - at 2:41am, Eric Montefusco, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident on East Argyle Street.

Jan. 23 - Michael Pacella, 34, of East Rockaway was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Lincoln Boulevard and East Park Avenue in Long Beach.

Case Reports

Lost Property – At 5:22pm on Jan. 18, the complainant reports a lost New York State Dealer registration plate. The plate was lost in the vicinity of Sunrise Volkswagen 931 Sunrise Hwy.

Criminal Mischief – At 7:11pm on Jan. 19, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged their 2008 Toyota by scratching the car with an unknown object and breaking the passenger side mirror while the car was parked on Lakeview Ave. The total damage to the car is $500.

Burglary - At 12:30pm on Jan. 20, the complainant reports that two unknown persons broke a rear window and enter the complainant’s house on Whitehall Street. The persons then removed $4,000 from the complainant’s bedroom. The subjects are described as a white male, stocky build wearing a white warm-up suit with dark stripes on sleeves and a white male, wearing light jeans and a light colored shirt. The subjects maybe operating a silver VW Jetta with a white registration plate, unknown registration number.

Petty Larceny - At 8:30pm on Jan. 21, the complainant reports parking his 2002 Nissan in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus, located at 78 Hempstead Ave. and entering the building. At 8:50pm the complainant went back to his car and found a male wearing an all black sweat suit in the front driver’s seat. As the complainant approached the male jumped to the passenger side and exited the car. The male then jumped the fence and fled northbound.

The subject is described as a male, 5’8” tall, 160 lbs, medium build wearing a black hooded sweat suit. The complainant then found the window of the rear driver’s door smashed and his GPS and digital camera missing. The value of the property and window is $750.

Criminal Mischief - At 8:56pm on Jan. 21, the complainant found that some unknown person(s) did break the front passenger window of their 2005 Mazda which was parked in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus. The value of the window is $350.

Criminal Mischief - At 2:50pm on Jan. 22, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did break the driver’s window of their 2008 Ford which was parked in the driveway of Gentle Care 130 Merrick Rd. The value of the window is $200.
