Crimes Nearby: Lakeview Homes Burglarized; Stolen Property in RVC

A rundown of recent crimes in the area.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police's Fifth Precinct and the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

Malverne - West Hempstead

  • Two homes in Lakeview were recently burglarized. The first incident occurred on Colonia Road on Oct. 27 and the second on Derrick Adkins Lane on Oct. 31.
  • There was also an attempted burglary at a home on Pinebrook Court in Lakeview on Nov. 1.
  • Valuables were stolen from a car parked on Lakeview Avenue in Lakeview on Oct. 26.
  • Four manhole covers were stolen from locations on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead on Oct. 30.

Rockville Centre

  • On Oct. 18 at 7:20 a.m., a complainant from S. Marion Place in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property including a Dell lap top computer valued at $1,500 from her 2000 Subaru that was parked in the residence parking lot between Oct. 17 at 6:50 p.m. and Oct. 18 at 6:30 a.m.
  • On Oct. 18 at 8 p.m., a complainant from Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property including a Sanyo cell phone valued at $100 from her 2011 Toyota Corolla parked in Municipal Parking Field  No. 19 between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.
  • On Oct. 21 at 8:30 p.m., a complainant from 1st Street in Lynbrook reported that unknown person(s) damaged the driver side rear and passenger side front tires of his 2001 Cadillac that was parked in front of 486 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre between 7:10 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Oceanside

  • On Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m., a complainant from Washington Avenue in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) debited $1,350.59 from her Astoria Federal Savings bank account without authorization.
