Crime Report, Pt. II: Assault Charges, DWI Arrests

A rundown of crimes and arrests reported by Nassau County Police.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Valley Stream

- Sometime between September 19 at 1:50 p.m. and September 20 at 8:30 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole an iPod and tote bag from complainant's vehicle on Meyer Avenue. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

- Sometime between September 19 at 4 p.m. and September 20 at 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole a checkbook from the complainant's unlocked vehicle on Midwood Street.

- Sometime between September 19 at 10 p.m. and September 20 at 4 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole clothing and other miscellaneous items from complainant's vehicle on Edna Court.

- On September 18 at 9:15 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) shoplifted the Marshall's in Oceanside at 3560 Long Beach Road.

- On September 19 at 3:48 p.m., Anthony Monterosso, 51, of Inwood, was arrested at Waukena Avenue and Ocean Avenue in Oceanside and charged with driving while ability impaired, third degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

- On September 22 at 9:13 a.m., Guzman Celestino, 58, of Island Park, was arrested at Lawson Boulevard. and West Windsor Parkway and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

Franklin Square

- On September 19 at 1:35 a.m. [Name removed], was arrested at Rintin Street and charged with driving while ability impaired and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

- On September 23 at 7:58 p.m., Adam Welsh, 35, of Garden City, was arrested on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square and charged with driving while intoxicated and two violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
