Crime Watch: 7 Cars Stolen, Burglary in Valley Stream

A weekly report of crimes in West Hempstead, Lakeview, N. Lynbrook and other parts of the Fifth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

BURGLARIES

A Valley Stream home on Lyon Street was burglarized sometime between July 22 and July 26.

GRAND LARCENIES

A car parked in West Hempstead between July 21 and July 22 was stolen.

Two vehicles -- one parked on the corner of American Avenue and Evans Avenue, and the other on 116th Road -- were stolen in Elmont between July 23 and July 25.

Three cars were stolen from three different locations in Valley Stream between July 24 and July 27. Two of the vehicles had been parked on Sunrise Highway, one near the Sunrise Multiplex Theater, and another had been parked on West Euclid Street.

A car that had been parked on Rockmart Avenue in Elmont was stolen on July 27.

Tires and rims were stolen off a vehicle parked on Oliver Avenue in North Valley Stream on July 23.

PETIT LARCENIES

Two hanging baskets were stolen from the front of a Valley Stream home located on Wood Lane on July 25. Another petit larceny was reported in Valley Stream on N. Mineola Avenue between July 22 and July 23.

LARCENIES

An unknown person removed property from a vehicle parked on Frame Street in Franklin Square between July 28 and July 29.

A GPS device was stolen sometime between July 23 and July 24 from a car parked on Wyngate Drive in North Valley Stream.

An unknown suspect(s) stole items from a vehicle parked on Appeal Avenue in Elmont between July 23 and 24. The victim told police that he was unsure if he locked the car. There was no damage to the vehicle.
