Crime Watch: Copper Stolen From Lakeview Home, 2 Masseuses Arrested

UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE
Two workers at Acupuncture Oriental Bodywork on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead were arrested on Feb. 15 for unauthorized practice after Nassau County Police's Vice Squad and POP office conducted an investigation of the business. Guohua Chen and Xiaohong Liu, both of Flushing, were charged with crimes after police say they performed unlicensed massage on an undercover detective.

BURGLARIES
Copper was stolen from a vacant home on Clinton Avenue in Lakeview between Feb. 10 and Feb. 15.

Two Elmont homes on Belmont Avenue were burglarized on Feb. 14.
A burglary was reported on Feb. 15 at a Franklin Square home on Sprague Avenue.
A Valley Stream home on Nassau Court was burglarized on Feb. 17.
A home on Edward Street in Lynbrook was burglarized on Feb. 19.
PROHIBITED SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
In response to community complaints, Nassau County Police's PEP/POP officers conducted a detail on Feb. 15 targeting the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. During the detail, a total of seven businesses were inspected and four people were arrested after police say each sold alcoholic beverages to underage police agents without asking for identification. Gopal Singh, of Elmont, was arrested while working at the Mobil Gas Station on Elmont Road; Saif M. Jashan, of Hollis, while working at the Elmont Deli Plus on Linden Boulevard; Saif Ur Rehman, of Queens Village, an employee at Valero Gas Station on Franklin Avenue in N. Valley Stream, and Erdogan Ozdemir, of Deer Park, who worked at Gas Stop on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.
GRAND LARCENIES
A vehicle was stolen from a lot on N. Corona Avenue in Valley Stream between Feb. 12 and Feb. 14.
LARCENY/ OTHER THEFTS
An unknown person stole a snow blower from a detached garage located o Clafin Boulevard in Franklin Square between Feb. 13 and Feb. 14.
A car stereo was stolen on Feb. 19 from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on Hendrickson Avenue in Elmont.
PETIT LARCENY
One tire and one rim was stolen off of a vehicle parked in front of a residence on Renfrew Avenue in Elmont between Feb. 17 and Feb. 18.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
An unknown person broke a window to a home located on Jefferson Avenue in Lakeview between Feb. 13 and Feb. 14.
A vehicle was damaged by an unknown person while parked in the driveway of a home on Arkansas Drive in Valley Stream between Feb. 17 and Feb. 18.
An unknown person broke the side-view mirror of a car on Feb. 14 while it was parked on Rosser Avenue in Elmont.
The passenger-side rear window of vehicle parked on Jane Place in Valley Stream on Feb. 14 was broken.
An unknown person damaged a vehicle parked at the intersection of Rockaway Avenue and Jackson Road in Valley Stream on Feb. 16.
Two panels of a PVC fence located on Fairway Road in Franklin Square were damaged by an unknown person between Feb. 18 and Feb. 19.
