Crime Watch: Home Burglarized, Parts and Property Stolen From Cars

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

BURGLARIES

A burglary occurred at a home on Hewlett Street in Franklin Square on May 8.

GRAND LARCENIES

A car that had been parked on Cromer Rd E. in Elmont was stolen between May 12 and May 13.

LARCENIES

Tires and rims were stolen off of three vehicles that had been parked in West Hempstead and Elmont between May 9 and May 10. The incidents occurred on Sylvan Drive in West Hempstead, and Gotham Avenue and Baylis Avenue in Elmont.

A victim in Valley Stream reported on May 10 that she came outside to find that the right passenger-side rear window of her car had been broken and items were stolen while parked at Jamaica Avenue and S. Central Avenue.

Items were stolen from two cars parked in Elmont on May 13. The first incident occurred on Adams Street, where a victim reported that an unknown suspect broke the front right-side window of his vehicle, and removed his wallet. The other happened on Elmont Road.

Property was also stolen from a vehicle parked on Admont Avenue in Franklin Square between May 13 and May 14 after the rear driver's side window of the victim's car was smashed by an unknown suspect.

An unknown person broke into several vehicles parked on Cathedral Avenue in Franklin Square on May 14 and took various items including GPS units, laptops and cameras from inside.

PETIT LARCENY

A bicycle that had been left on the side of a house on Panwood Drive in West Hempstead was stolen by an unknown person on May 7.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An unknown person damaged the rear window of a vehicle that had been parked on Champlain Avenue in Lakeview between May 7 and May 8.

Between May 8 and May 9, an unknown person broke the right rear window of a car parked on Whitehall Boulevard in Garden City South.

A car that had been parked on St. Josephs Place in Franklin Square between May 13 and May 14 was keyed.

The passenger side window of a car that had been parked on E. Hawthorne Avenue in Valley Stream was damaged by an unknown person between May 12 and May 13.
