Crime Watch: Pizzeria Burglarized, String of Thefts, Halloween Decor Damaged

See what crimes occurred in the neighborhood this week.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police's Fifth Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

BURGLARIES

, located on Nassau Boulevard in West Hempstead, was burglarized on Oct. 23.

There was an attempted burglary of a Lakeview home located on Myrna Drive on Oct. 19.

Two Elmont homes - one located on Adams Street and one on Marshall Street- were both burglarized on Oct. 23.

A North Valley Stream home located on Alstead Road was burglarized on Oct. 20. There was also an attempted burglary reported at a home on Rottkamp Street in North Valley Stream on Oct. 25.

An Elmont home located on Claridge Avenue was burglarized on Oct. 18. Two days later, another Elmont home located on Kingston Street was burglarized.

GRAND LARCENIES

A string of grand larcenies occurred in West Hempstead and Lakeview between Oct. 24 and Oct. 25. An unknown person stole a laptop and loose change from a car parked in the driveway of a home on Willow Street. Another victim parked her car on Williams Street while dropping her daughter off at school and returned to find her pocketbook had been stolen from the vehicle. Various items were also taken from a car parked in the driveway of a home on Adams Avenue and in the fourth incident, a laptop and a tool set were stolen from a vehicle parked on Lincoln Road.

Three cars were stolen from separate locations in Valley Stream between Oct. 15 and Oct. 23. The first incident occurred on West Merrick Road. The second car was taken from a municipal lot located on Ethel Street and the third from the driveway of a home located on Hendrickson Avenue, but it was later located several blocks away.

A vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a Lynbrook home located on Tilrose Avenue on Oct. 24.

LARCENIES/OTHER THEFTS

A wallet was stolen form an unlocked car parked outside a home on Clinton Avenue in Lakeview on Oct. 21.

A GPS, wallet and iPod were taken from an unlocked car parked on Oakford Street in West Hempstead on Oct. 22.

A UPS package that had been placed outside a business located on S. Central Avenue in Valley Stream, awaiting a pick-up truck, was stolen on Oct. 18.

A bike was stolen from the garage of a home located on Deen Street in Valley Stream on Oct. 22. The victim reported that she returned home from work to find the gate and garage open and her son's bike missing.

Property was stolen from a vehicle parked on Caroline Avenue in Franklin Square on Oct. 25.

PETIT LARCENY (TIRES AND RIMS)

One tire and rim was stolen from a car parked on Ethel Street in Valley Stream on Oct. 23. The car was found propped on a brick.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A West Hempstead resident living on Roosevelt Boulevard reported that an unknown person damaged some Halloween ornaments on Oct. 19.

Two incidents occurred in Elmont on Oct. 18. The rear driver's side window of a vehicle parked on Keller Avenue and the rear basement window of a home located on Goodwin Road were reportedly broken.

An unknown person broke the rear windshield, and the driver's-side rear window and mirror, while also inflicting dents to a car parked on Greenway Boulevard in North Valley Stream on Oct. 22.

An unknown person threw a brick through the driver's side rear-window of a car parked on Leighton Road in Elmont on Oct. 21.

Cars were also damaged while parked on Ballard Avenue in Valley Stream and B Street in Elmont on Oct. 20, Paschal Avenue in Franklin Square on Oct. 21 and Elzey Avenue in Elmont on Oct. 24
