Crime Watch: V.S. Businesses Burglarized, 2 Arrested For Selling Alcohol to Minor

See what crimes were committed this week in Malverne, West Hempstead, Lakeview and surrounding areas.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

UNLAWFUL DEALING WITH CHILD

An officer observed Kyung Jong Park sell alcohol to an underage agent working for the police at BRC Market on Meacham Avenue in Elmont on Jan. 18. Police say Park, of Port Washington, was arrested after he did not ask for any form of identification showing proof of age.

Thomas Lee, of Elmont, was arrested on Jan. 18 for allegedly selling alcohol to an underage agent working for the police. Officers say Lee, who was working at 7 to 8 Deli and Grocery on Gotham Avenue in Elmont, did not ask for any form of identification showing proof of age.

BURGLARIES

Three Valley Stream businesses were burglarized between Jan. 19 and Jan. 23. The businesses were Braccos Music Center on Rockaway Avenue, Piercing Pagoda at Green Acres Mall and Gershow Recycling on East Hawthorne Avenue.

A home on McKinley Avenue in Franklin Square was burglarized on Jan. 19.

Burglaries occurred at two homes on Jan. 17 - one on Madison Street in Elmont and another on Valley Lane West in Valley Stream.

Another burglary happened at a garage located on Buscher Avenue in Valley Stream on Jan. 20.

GRAND LARCENIES

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle on Jan. 17 while it was parked on Marguerite Avenue in South Floral Park.

An unknown person broke the passenger side window of a car parked on New Hyde Park Road in Franklin Square on Jan. 22 and stole a pocketbook from inside.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An unknown person broke the rear window of a car parked on Maxwell Street in West Hempstead between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17.

Police responded to an alarm at North Island Check Cashing on Linden Boulevard in Elmont on Jan. 20 and observed damage to the store's front window.

Between Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, an unknown person threw a brick through the front glass door of the Citgo Gas Station located on Hendrickson Avenue in Valley Stream. That same night, an unknown suspect kicked and broke the front glass door of another Valley Stream business located on Rockaway Avenue.
