Merrick Avenue 7-Eleven Robbed at Gunpoint

Cops are seeking the community's help in identifying the three men responsible for robbing 7-Eleven at gunpoint in East Meadow Tuesday.

According to police, at 1:40 a.m., two black males dressed in dark clothing entered 7-Eleven at 331 Merrick Ave., while a third black male remained outside. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and jumped over the counter, while the second man removed cash from the register.

Police: Levittown Man Arrested After Shooting Gun in Air

A Levittown man who shot his gun in the air early Friday morning was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to police. 

Police said that they received a call at 4:30 a.m. Friday for a man shooting a gun into the air in the vicinity of Twig Lane and Newbridge Road. While responding to the scene, police said they saw a man walking away from the area which fit the description of the subject.

A Bellmore man was among 106 people indicted in a social security disability scheme, Manhattan prosecutors said Tuesday.

According to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr., 80 retired New York City firefighters and police officers lied about their medical conditions to get benefits they weren't eligible for.
