Second Man Arrested in N. Valley Stream Home Invasion

Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with  that turned into a shoot-out last month.

Nassau County Police charged Varinder Singh, 23, of N. Valley Stream, with first degree burglary and two counts of second degree robbery. They say Singh was involved in the Jan. 16 incident that occurred at a home on Dana Avenue, where police responded to a burglary in progress.

When the first officer arrived at the scene around 9:15 p.m. he found that armed suspects had taken two adults and four children hostage inside their home. The officer was able to break through the back door and rescue the victims, according to the police, but when he went back inside to apprehend the suspects, he confronted one of them in a hallway and gunfire was exchanged.

Several other responding officers rushed to assist and an undetermined amount of subjects began to flee. Police confirmed the following afternoon that one of the suspects, Timothy Capers, 37, of Queens, took his own life during the shootout with a self-inflicted gunshot. Another suspect, Levy Robinson, 47, of Jamaica, was arrested at the scene and charged with first degree robbery, two counts of first degree burglary and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Singh will be arraigned on Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
