Teen Arrested for Duo of Halloween Robberies

A teenager was arrested after he and two other male subjects allegedly committed two Halloween robberies of teenage victims, with one at gunpoint, in Valley Stream, according to police.

At 5:30 p.m., Philip Paulino, 16, of Rosedale, along with two male subjects who have yet to be arrested, exited from a red Honda on Merrick Road at Clearstream Avenue and allegedly struck an 18-year-old male victim from behind with an unknown object and then kicked him, police said. Paulino then apparently grabbed money off the ground that had fallen out of the victim’s pocket and fled in the vehicle.

Three hours later, the three subjects, armed with a handgun, allegedly approached two other male victims, ages 13 and 14, while walking in the vicinity of Clearstream Avenue and demanded they hand over everything in their pockets, police said. The victims handed over a Playstation Portable, a Blackberry cell phone and cash. The subjects then fled in their vehicle with the proceeds.

No injuries were reported.

On Nov. 3, Fifth Precinct officers located Paulino in the Honda on Lake Drive East and placed him under arrest. He is charged with two counts of robbery and was arraigned on Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
