Crimes Nearby: Mom Assaults Daughter With Hanger, Man Charged With Sharing Child Porn

The following information was supplied by the  Nassau County, Garden City, Lynbrook and Rockville Centre police departments. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Valley Stream Man Charged With Sharing Child Porn

The Nassau County Crimes Against Property Squad reports the arrest of a Valley Stream man on April 3 at 8:20 a.m. in Valley Stream. According to detectives, the Internet Child Exploitation Section of the Nassau County Police Department’s CAP squad conducted an online investigation that revealed Braulin Gonzalez, 36, was in possession of computer files pertaining to sexual performances by a child on the Internet and allowed those files to be shared online. On four separate occasions beginning in November 2011 to February of 2012, detectives were able to download files from Gonzalez by utilizing the defendant’s online file-sharing program. He is charged with three counts of Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child and was arraigned at First District Court on April 4.

Cops: Garden City Mom Assaults Daughter With Hanger

While investigating a domestic disturbance at a Garden City residence on March 31, officers arrested a 42-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting her daughter. The mother had struck the victim several times with a plastic hanger causing the victim to suffer welts and contusions, according to police.

Muggers Assault Rockville Centre Man With Stick

A Rockville Centre man was mugged on March 23 by two unknown males. The victim said his attackers approached him while on Randall Avenue in Rockville Centre at approximately 6:25 p.m., stricking him in the head with a stick and causing a contusion. They then stole his wallet and $620, before fleeing the scene on foot in unknown direction.

Two Report Fraudalent Tax Returns

On March 20 at 10:40 a.m., a complainant from Woods Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person filed a tax return with his personal information without authorization. A similar complaint was filed later that day by another Rockville Centre person from Ardsley Place.

Designer Glasses Stolen From Lynbrook Store 

Two large garbage bags containing designer eyeglasses were reported stolen from a Lynbrook business on April 2. At 11:50pm, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) pried open the rear door of their business, L.I.A., located at 68 Atlantic Ave, and removed the bags. The total amount of eyeglasses and their value is unknown at this time. Both subjects, who were observed on video, are described as white males, and were wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and black gloves.

Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
