Fake Utility Workers Rob Lakeview Home

Two black males posing as utility workers robbed a Lakeview home Monday night, police say.

According to detectives for Nassau County's Fifth Precinct, the two men approached a home on Ontario Road around 9:55 p.m. on July 25. When a 20-year-old female resident opened the front door, they forced her back inside the living room using a handgun. The girl's friend, a 23-year-old man, was forced to the ground at gunpoint, police said.

The landlord and his male friend, both 28, arrived at the home, and the friend was dragged in. The landlord was able to escape and call police.

The two attackers then fled with a large bag of unknown proceeds and the cell phones and wallets of the victims. No injuries were reported.

DWI Suspect Charged After Fight with Police

A Long Beach man with a history of driving drunk was arrested Monday night after police chased him and he fought with an officer, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as Timothy Schroeder, 38, was finally subdued by four officers and with the help of a Good Samaritan.

Police later determined that Schroeder had three prior DWI convictions and was required to have an interlock device installed in his car, which he was supposed to breathe into before operating the vehicle, authorities said. He was also driving with a suspended license.

Cops: Inwood Teen Assaulted Man, Fired Gun at Him

An Inwood teenager was arrested on Thursday for allegedly beating up a man and shooting a handgun in his direction, according to police.

Marcell Haynes, 16, along with two other male accomplices, approached the 19-year-old victim on Tuesday, July 12, at the courtyard of 385 Bayview Ave. in Inwood, police said. Haynes and the victim started arguing over “ongoing differences,” which escalated into a physical confrontation. The defendant, along with his accomplices, allegedly punched and kicked the victim to the ground, cops said.

Haynes apparently then took out a silver handgun and shot found rounds in the victim’s direction, none of which struck him, according to police. The subjects then fled the scene on foot. The victim refused medical attention upon police arrival.

Man Arrested in Inwood for Having Gun, Cops Say

A North Carolina man was arrested in Inwood on Wednesday after police officers saw the handle of a gun protruding from his front pants pockets, according to police.

Jarrot Jones, 21, of Matthews, N.C., was allegedly observed by cops getting into a vehicle on Merril Street with a gun, police said. Police arrested him around 3:41 p.m. and found that the firearm’s serial number had been removed.

Jones is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

    •    Michelle J. Garry, 48, of East Meadow, was arrested on July 12 and charged with driving while intoxicated after she was involved in an auto accident on Lakeview Avenue near N. Long Beach Road while operating a 2005 Mercury.
    •    Renee A. Uzzi, 44, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on July 15 and charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting (auto accident with personal injury) after striking a bicyclist on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.
    •    Zachary S. Zassman, 20, of Oceanside, was arrested on July 15 and charged with third-degree assault after being involved in a disturbance in MPF No. 9 in Rockville Centre.
    •    Thomas J. Higgins, 18, of Oceanside, was arrested on July 15 and charged with third-degree assault after being involved in a disturbance in MPF No. 9 in Rockville Centre.
    •    The following two males were arrested during a narcotics investigation on Sunrise Highway on July 15:
    ◦    Kevin C. Williams, 27, of Springfield Gardens, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
    ◦    Craig M. Bauerle, 38, of Long Beach, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
    •    Anthony M. Polo, 21, of Wantagh, was arrested on July 16 and charged with third-degree assault following an investigation on South Park Avenue.
    •    Sergio I. Magana, 23, of Seaford, was arrested on July 17 and charged with disorderly conduct during a disturbance on Hempstead Avenue.
    •    Giovanni Catronovo, 21, of Long Beach was arrested on July 20 and charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at a stop sign at East Park Avenue. 
    •    A 16-year-old male from Long Beach was arrested on July 22 and charged with second-degree assault on East Pine Street.
    •    Frederick Dearborn, 66, of East Atlantic Beach, was arrested on July 23 and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage at Clark Street.
    •    Pamela Clemens, 45, of East Atlantic Beach, was arrested on July 24 and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate at West Park Avenue and Wisconsin Street.
    •    Joseph Suazo, 51, of Long Beach, was arrested on July 24 and charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding at West Park Avenue and Washington Boulevard.
    •    Steven Weber, 69, of Freeport, was arrested on July 24 and charged with assault in the third degree, which occurred on Bixley Heath in Lynbrook.
    •    Derrick Patten, 19, of Long Beach, was arrested on July 26and charged with menacing, menacing with a weapon, criminal possession of a knife, and criminal mischief at the Long Beach Police Department.
    •    A 17-year-old male from Long Beach was arrested on July 26 and charged with menacing and criminal mischief at Long Beach Police Department.
