Three people were arrested after a high-speed chase on Lido Boulevard Saturday night and were allegedly found with numerous drugs on them.

Around 11:08 p.m., Long Beach Police Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop of a gray 2009 Infiniti, according to Nassau County detectives. The operator of the vehicle sped away and Fourth Precinct police officers then observed the vehicle eastbound on Lido Boulevard driving erratically at a high rate of speed, in excess of 100 MPH. The vehicle came to a stop at an open bridge, where police arrested Tariq Qazi, 25, of Elmhurst, Malissa Chester, 22, of Jamaica, and Maher Fadl, 22, of Middle Village.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 37 blue pills in the console of the vehicle, police said, which are believed to be oxycodone, as well as cocaine and marijuana in an open knapsack. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Maryland.

The Rockville Centre police department was notified on July 20 by South Nassau Hospital staff of a victim with a gunshot wound in the emergency room. The victim, a 25-year-old male Freeport resident, initially told officers the shooting occurred on Merrick Road. Further investigation revealed the victim was shot twice in the leg while in the Morgan Days North Parking Field behind Old Mill Court.
