Crime Watch: Home Burglaries, Stolen Cars and Illegal Alcohol Sales

See what crimes occurred in the neighborhood this week.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police and New York State Police. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Burglaries

A home on S. Jasper Street in North Valley Stream was burglarized on Oct. 7 and another residence on E. Avenue in Valley Stream was burglarized on Oct. 10.

A burglary occurred at an Elmont home on Parkway Drive between Sept. 15 and Oct. 3.

Best Cellular on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square was burglarized between Oct. 3 and Oct. 4.

Grand Larceny

A car was stolen while parked on Holly Place in West Hempstead between Oct. 8 and Oct. 9.

A vehicle parked in front of a residence on Hathaway Avenue in Elmont was stolen on Oct. 10.

A victim reported to police that an unknown person stole property from her vehicle while parked on Ontario Road in Lakeview on Oct. 8.

Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage

In response to community complaints, POP Officers conducted an investigation at four local businesses and arrested four individuals on Oct. 5 for selling alcohol to an under-aged agent without asking for proper identification. They arrested Yogeshkumar Patel, of Flushing, at the Lucky Convenience on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, Andre Balley, of St. Albans, at the Getty 4 Corners Food Mart on Linden Boulevard in Elmont, Buyuknisan Cengiz, of Elmont, at the First Petroleum on Linden Boulevard in Elmont, and Leon Bubak, of Valley Stream, at Betsy's Deli and Grocery on Central Court in Valley Stream.

DWI Arrest

A Queens woman was arrested by New York State Police for DWI after she was pulled over for speeding on the Southern State Parkway near Malverne-West Hempstead.
