Did West Hempstead Bank Robber Strike Again Monday?

Nassau Cops may be searching for a serial bank robber after a man matching the same description robbed a South Farmingdale bank Monday after failed job in West Hempstead.

A man fitting the same description as the suspect in Monday's attempted robbery in West Hempstead may also be responsible for robbing a Capital One Bank in South Farmingdale less than an hour later.

Nassau County Police reported that a black male suspect, approximately 6 feet tall, 30 to 40 years old, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, attempted to rob the Roslyn Savings Bank in West Hempstead at 1:08 p.m. Monday. Less than one month ago, on Nov. 14, a man, fitting the same description an undisclosed amount of cash from the same bank and is believed to be responsible for another bank robbery in Freeport.

But it looks like after leaving the Roslyn Savings Bank on Hempstead Turnpike Monday afternoon empty handed, the subject may also have pulled off a around 2 p.m.

Police have not confirmed whether the crimes are related, but Farmingdale Patch reports that the subject in the Capital One Bank robbery was also described by cops as a male black subject, 30-40 years old, 6’ tall, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap.
