East Meadow FD Responds to House Fire

responded to a fire at 1428 Cleveland Ave. on Saturday night.

The fire started around 8:07 p.m., Fire Chief John Priest said.

"When we got here the fire was well established and there were no occupants in the house," he said. "The fire was contained to two bedrooms on the first floor and some extension of the basement."

Fire departments from North Bellmore, North Merrick and Levittown were on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.

As always another GREAT Job by our volunteers. These men and woman answer the call for help around the clock throughout the year. Not just calls they attend countless hours of training and practice to keep their skills on point when they do get a call such as this. GREAT JOB GUYS!! and THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
