Fire at Blue Tequila Restaurant Ruled Arson

Fire at West Hempstead restaurant deemed suspicious by Fire Marshal.

A fire that broke out early Friday morning at thein West Hempstead has been ruled arson, according to officials.

The responded to a 911 call that came in around 5:15 a.m. on March 11, reporting a serious fire at the Hempstead Avenue restaurant.

West Hempstead Assistant Chief Jason Lacomb responded with 75 firefighters and 15 pieces of apparatus, and was assisted by the Hempstead Fire Department. They were able to extinguish the fire before the building sustained any major damage.

The restaurant was unoccuppied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall was also present at the scene and conducted an investigation, later determining the cause of the fire to be arson.
