Garage Fire Extinguished on Park Place

Lynbrook FD responded quickly and had the fire put out in 20 minutes.

The Lynbrook Fire Department responded to and extinguished a garage fire Wednesday night on Park Place.

According to Lynbrook FD Chief Michael Hynes, there was a fire in a non-attached garage near the dead end of Park Place, off of W. Merrick Road. Lynbrook Police said the fire started at approximately 8:47 p.m.

By 9:10 p.m. all visible fire had been extinguished by the Lynbrook FD, which had Engine 421 parked outside of the affected garage.

There were propane tanks in the garage, Hynes said. The origin of the fire is currently unknown.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Hazmat Team were on the scene to investigate the fire at 9:30 p.m.
