Gas Station Robbed Near Lynbrook Border

The suspect made away with an unknown amount of cash.

A suspect made away with an unknown amount of cash after robbing a gas station near the Lynbrook border early Wednesday morning.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 3:25 a.m., a 33 year old male employee was working at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 1200 Rockaway Ave. in Valley Stream when a white male suspect entered the store, jumped over the counter and opened the cash register.

The suspect removed an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said. There were no injuries reported.

The suspect is described to be approximately 20-22 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 tall, slim to average weight, wearing a blue hoodie sweatshirt.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
