'Hot Dog Hooker' Arrested in E. Garden City

East Rockaway's Catherina Scalia was charged with prostitution after an alleged incident at an East Garden City hotel.

The infamous "hot dog hooker" was arrested in East Garden City Friday evening after allegedly offering to perform a sexual act on an undercover detective.

East Rockaway resident Catherina G. Scalia has been charged with prostitution and unauthorized practice after an alleged incident at an East Garden City hotel.

According to Nassau County detectives, the 47-year-old Scalia responded to the hotel in her notorious hot dog vending truck.

While in the hotel, police said Scalia performed a massage without a license on an undercover detective and then offered to engage in a sexual act for an undetermined amount of money.

Scalia was dubbed the "hot dog hooker" by several media outlets after a prostitution arrest in May of 2012l.

At the time, Scalia was using a hot dog vending truck located on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin to solicit customers for sexual conduct. Police said she would inform customers to respond to her home where she would perform assorted sexual acts for money.

Scalia will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
