Catherina Scalia received her sentence for last month's prostitution arrest.

Catherina Scalia, the East Rockaway woman who was in early May after soliciting an undercover police officer, was sentenced to a week in jail Monday afternoon.

Scalia had pleaded guilty to the prostitution charge back in May.

Scalia told the judge in May that she was "stripping" when she was arrested. When he asked again if she had engaged in an act of prostitution, she said "yes," and giggled.

Less than one week after being arrested, Scalia left Nassau County Jail and attempted to return to her place of business in Baldwin, but multiple times with Nassau County Police.

The arrest of Scalia resulted from an investigation conducted by detectives from the Narcotic Vice Squad, police said. The detectives became aware that the defendant was allegedly using a hot dog vending truck located on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin to solicit customers for sexual conduct.

According to police, Scalia would inform customers to respond to her home where she would perform assorted sexual acts for money.
