Man Charged With DWI, Possession of Stun Gun

Hugh Murray, 26, of Levittown was also charged with resisting arrest and driving without insurance, police said.

A Levittown man was arrested and charged with driving while in intoxicated, resisting arrest, and for being in possession of a stun gun shaped as a cell phone on Tuesday, police said.

According to authorities, Hugh Murray, 26, was seen operating a 2004 BMW in an erratic manner eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, in the vicinity of Merrick Avenue in East Meadow around 2:45 a.m.

When officers stopped Murray they found that he was under the influence of alcohol. When he was placed into custody the stun gun was found in his back pocket, police said.

Authorities said that when officers attempted to place Murray in the police vehicle, he used his body and legs to push away from the car and it required several officers to place him in it.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Murray was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, moving from lanes unsafely and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Not sure could it be: Could this be Hugh Daniel Murray IV from Levittown..... If it is he can somehow add this experience to his comedy act.... More important can he be related to Kate Murray? Just asking...... ;o)

I get it DWI.. fine that sucks.. but the stun gun.. ? No need for it.. and then on top of it.. resisting, requiring officers to physically restrain him..?? Really.. what did you think would happen,, your in handcuffs, they police know your name, do you think they were going to say, "ok guy, you dont want to get in the car you dont have too, although your DWI and have an illegal weapon??"... really , your in a situation to which you have no control of.. Now you may have just crippled your good name..

To Hdm4: If you are who you say you are just add it to your routine and get a few laughs... Life is funny that way. You will be a better person for what happened. Remember, laughter is the best medicine.
