Lynbrook Crime Report: $1,463 Identity Theft Loss; Christmas Decorations Stolen

A look at recent crime and arrests in the Lynbrook area.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

Case Reports

Lost Property: At 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 4, the complainant, the inventory manager at Sunrise Volkswagen located at 931 Sunrise Hwy., reports that a N.Y.S. Dealer Registration Plate was lost in the vicinity of the dealership.

Identity Theft: At 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 4, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) made three unauthorized charges on their HSBC Debit card. The total amount of the loss is $1,463.

Petty Larceny: At 10:50am on Dec. 7, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their locked 1998 Ford Explorer, which was parked in their driveway located on Chester Road. The unknown persons removed 10 compact discs from the vehicle which are valued at $100.

Petty Larceny: At 3:35pm on Dec. 7, the complainant, the building superintendent of Lynbrook Terrace located at 504 Merrick Road reported that an unknown person(s) removed Christmas decorations from the front foyer. The decorations are valued at $500.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle: At 1:15pm on Dec. 9, the complainant, the manager of Avis Rent a Car located at 55 Sunrise Hwy., reports that their 2013 Chrysler 300 which was rented on Oct. 24, has not been returned.
