Lynbrook Crime Report: Menacing and Harassment Charge, Marijuana Arrests

A look at recent crime and arrests in the Lynbrook area.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

- On Nov. 13 at 10:27pm Barry B. Murphy, 54, of Hempstead,  was arrested and charged with assault, driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident on Niemann Ave.  

- On Nov. 18 at 4:00pm Christopher Rapp 32, of Lynbrook,  was arrested and charged with criminal contempt for an incident that occurred on Ocean Ave.

- On Nov. 18 at 5:45pm Avante L. Lester 20, of East Rockaway, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Forest Ave.  

- On Nov. 18 at 11:15pm David A. Bostick 31, of Arverne, NY was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and an equipment violation in parking field #1 located on Columbus Drive.

- On Nov. 19 at 7:40pm Tami Scheiner 47, of New York, NY was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Broadway.

- On Nov. 19 at 4:50pm Steven A. Torres 46, of North Lawrence, was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation and falsely reporting an incident for an incident that occurred on Peninsula Blvd.

- On Nov. 19 at 10:47pm Edwin Lugo 22, of Lynbrook,  was arrested and charged with menacing and harassment on S. Franklin Ave.

- On Nov. 21 at 8:15pm Anthony Harrell 52, of Staten Island, NY was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and suspended registration on Broadway.

- On Nov. 21 at 9:26pm Douglas O. Rudolph 25, of Rockville Centre, NY was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunrise Highway.

- On Nov. 21 at 9:26pm Vincent T. Cheffo 58, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunrise Highway.

- On Nov. 23 at 3:41pm Shawn V. Boogaertswhite 49, of Far Rockaway, NY was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and passed a steady red traffic signal light on Sunrise Highway.

Case Reports

- At 6:16pm on Nov. 10, the complainant, the owner of RAS Wireless located at 679 Sunrise Hwy., reports that two subjects entered their store and removed two Samsung Note tablet/phones and  one Samsung Grand tablet/phone from the store. The items are valued at $2,098. The first subject is described as a black male, late 20’s, approx. 5’8” tall, 130 lbs., thin build, black eyes, dark skinned wearing blue jeans and a red jacket. The second subject is described as a black female, late 20’s, approx. 5’6”tall, heavy set black medium length hair black eyes, dark skinned wearing pink or red sweatshirt and pants.

- At 5:00pm on Nov. 15, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their yard on Lenox Ave and removed two bicycles. The value of the bicycles is $500. The first bicycle is a 2012 Schwinn Beach Cruiser, color blue and white, and the second is a 1972 Vesa three wheel bicycle, color red and black.

- At 5:15pm on Nov. 17, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged their 2000 Acura by breaking the driver’s side window and mirror and also damaged the driver’s side rear quarter panel while it was parked at Sportime located at 175 Merrick Rd. The total amount of the damage is $245.

- At 7:30pm on Nov. 21, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) withdrew $143 from their Visa credit card account.

- At 10:40am on Nov. 23, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) made five unauthorized charges on their TD debit card account. The total amount of the charges is $1,879.50.

-  At 11:45pm on Nov. 23, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged their PVC fence which is located on Leroy Place. The fence is valued at $200.
