Lynbrook Crime Report, Pt. II:LIPA Cables Stolen, Synergy Fitness Damaged

A look at recent crime and arrests in the Lynbrook area.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

Case Reports

Fourth Degree Criminal Mischief - At 4:09pm on August 29, the complainant, the owner of Synergy Fitness, located at 640 Merrick Road, reports that four front windows were damaged with a BB gun. The windows are valued at $500 each for a total of $2,000.

Petty Larceny - At 5:35pm on August 30, the complainant reports that their Apple Mini-Mac computer was taken from their residence. The computer is valued at $400.

Lost Property - At 1:00pm on September 1, the complainant reports that they lost their wallet in the vicinity of Dunkin' Donuts, located at 355 Sunrise Highway. Their wallet contained their NYS driver’s license, Social Security card, assorted credit cards and $120.

Lost Property - At 11:00am on September 3, the complainant reports that their 26” bicycle was lost in the vicinity of 30 Doxsey Place. The bicycle is valued at $100.

Grand Larceny- At 11:15am on September 4, the complainant, a field supervisor for LIPA, reports that 2,500 feet of control cable was taken from the LIPA substation located at the corner of Hendrickson Ave and Whitehall Street. The cable is valued at $12,500. The cable was taken between August 4 and September 4.

Found Property - At 1:00pm on September 4, the complainant reports finding a 10-speed bicycle on Sherman Street. The bicycle was removed to Lynbrook Police Department headquarters.

Identity Theft- At 6:40pm on September 4, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) made eight charges on their Visa credit card. The total amount of the charges is $191.97.

Lost Property - At 2:10pm on September 6, the complainant, the CEO of R.C. Service located at 43 Harriet Place, reports that they lost two N.Y.S. registration plates in the vicinity of 43 Harriet Place.
