Lynbrook Named 11th Safest 'City' in New York

Lynbrook is the eleventh safest "city" in New York State, according to a recent report by SafeWise Security Systems.

The Salt Lake City-based home-security provider deemed Lynbrook eleventh among 50 New York cities, praising the police department's "practical, proactive programs" as a reason why Lynbrook neighborhoods feel safe.

20 burglaries were reported in 2011, the year data was taken for the report.

The report cited FBI’s 2011 Crime in the U.S. Report as well as the company’s own research since from the past two years.

Topping the New York list is Floral Park, which is ranked the safest community. Also included are Port Washington (4), Glen Cove (7), Long Beach (10), Rockville Centre (29) and Garden City (30).
