Lynbrook PD: Lynbrook Men Arrested for Assault

A weekly rundown of arrests and case reports from the Lynbrook Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Arrests

  • On June 18 at 8:50 p.m., Yanhua Zheng, 47, of Flushing, was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice at 82 Atlantic Ave. in Lynbrook. The defendant, while employed as a massage therapist at Healthy Healing, performed a massage without being licensed by the State of New York.

  • On June 20 at 7:15 p.m., Sean P. Coy, 22, of Springfield Gardens, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle on Springfield Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.

  • On June 20 at 8:45 p.m., James Abbott Jr., 30, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon on Marshall Avenue in Lynbrook.

  • On June 20 at 8:45 p.m. James Abbott P., 55, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with assault on Marshall Avenue Lynbrook.

  • On June 20 at 10:30 p.m., Yao Wei, 30, of Flushing, was arrested and charged with making a punishable false written statement at Lynbrook Police Department Headquarters.

  • On June 23 at 12:20 a.m., Andrew S. Friedman, 54, of N. Woodmere, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unsafe lane change and unlicensed operation on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook.

  • On June 23 at 5:55 p.m., Edward Hollander, 32, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unsafe lane change and unlicensed operation on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

  • On June 24 at 1:40 a.m., Juan Colque, 53, of Gaithersburg, Md., was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage and equipment violation on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

  • Case Reports

    • Grand Larceny: At 5:20 a.m. on June 19, a complainant reported that their Diamond Tennis Bracelet was taken from the vicinity of their residence at 200 Atlantic Ave. in Lynbrook. The value of the bracelet is $7,000.

    • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle: At 3:10 p.m. on June 19, the security manager of Hertz Rent a Car, located at 56 Horton Ave. in Lynbrook, reported that their 2013 Chevrolet that was rented on April 27, 2013, has not been returned.
