Lynbrook PD: Man Arrested for Endangering Child, Lewdness; Motorcycles Stolen

A weekly rundown of arrests and crimes reported in the village of Lynbrook.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • Jonathan Padilla, 21, of Inwood, was arrested on Nov. 5 at 9:30 p.m. and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident (2 counts) on Oak Avenue in Inwood.
  • Michael V. Chemick, 23, of Woodmere, was arrested on Nov. 7 at 6:45 p.m. and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Public Lewdness at Lynbrook Police Department Headquarters.
  • Eric Goldstein, 21, of Island Park, was arrested on Nov. 10 at 12 a.m. and charged with an open warrant for Criminal Contempt (2 counts) on Shipherd Avenue.
  • Daniel Ellis, 25, of Freeport, was arrested on Nov. 11 at 3 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Failure to Signal a Turn on Sunrise Highway.
  • Stephen G. Hassett, 21, of Oceanside, was arrested on Nov. 11 at 5 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, Operate Wrong Way on One Way, Failure to Signal a Turn and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Highway.
  • James A. White, 27, of Howard Beach, was arrested on Nov. 11 at 1:48 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Turn as Required and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Highway.
  • A 16-year-old Lynbrook resident* was arrested on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. and charged with Criminal Mischief on Evergreen Avenue.
  • A 17-year-old Lynbrook resident* was arrested on Oct. 21 at 12:35 a.m. and charged with Criminal Mischief on Tredwell Avenue.

Burglary

  • At 6:20 p.m. on Nov. 6, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did enter their residence by breaking a rear bedroom window. The complainant found their bedroom ransacked and jewelry and a pillowcase on their dining room table. The total amount of loss is unknown at this time.

Grand Larceny

  • A complainant reports that at 11 p.m. on Nov. 1, an unknown person(s) did remove their 2004 Suzuki, GSXR1000, motorcycle, which was parked in the rear yard of their residence on Lynbrook Avenue. The motorcycle is valued at $4,000. 
  • At 11 p.m. on Nov. 1, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did remove their 2002 Honda, CVRF4I600, motorcycle, which was parked in the rear yard of their residence on Lynbrook Avenue. The motorcycle is valued at $5,500.  
  • A complainant reports that at 7:25 a.m. on Nov. 4 an unknown person(s) did enter their 2009 Chevrolet Silverado truck and remove their Apple Macbook laptop and iPod while it was parked on Union Place. The laptop and iPod are valued at $1,650.
  • At 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 4, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did remove $1,200 in assorted US currency from their pocketbook, which was inside the kitchen of a friend’s house on Charles Street, while the victim was attending a party at the residence.

Petit Larceny

  • At 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did remove $50 in assorted US currency from their residence on Pearsall Avenue.
