Lynbrook PD: Prostitution Arrests at Capri, Identity Thefts

A weekly rundown of arrests and crimes reported in the village of Lynbrook.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

ARRESTS

  • Georgena Verdieu, 17, of Laurelton, was arrested Jan. 31 at 9:15pm  and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (warrant) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (warrant) on Ocean Avenue.
  • Sean A. Sevetar, 39, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Feb. 1 at 11:30 p.m. and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing on Merrick Road.
  • Fazal Razack, 26, of Queens Village, was arrested on Feb. 2 at 4:30 a.m. and charged with Driving While Intoxicated on Sunrise Highway.
  • Darwin Alergia-Payan, 25, of Freeport, was arrested on Feb. 2 at 9:50 p.m. and charged with Petit Larceny on Merrick Road.
  • William Weis, 25, of Lynbrook, was arrested on Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. and charged with Criminal Contempt on Clark Avenue.
  • Gregory C. Gobin, 25, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Feb. 4 at 11:10 p.m. and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana at 1 Sunrise Hwy.
  • Natalia M. Gonzalez-Cordova, 51, of Jackson Heights, was arrested on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. and charged with Unauthorized Practice at 414 Sunrise Hwy. While employed as a massage therapist at Mariposa Nail and Spa, police say Gonzalez-Cordova did perform a massage without being licensed by the State of New York.
  • Henry J. Hagens III, 59, of Westbury, was arrested on Feb. 5 at 5:20 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Suspended Registration, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninspected Motor Vehicle and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Broadway.
  • Alexander H. Klein, 46, of Great Neck, was arrested on Feb. 5 at 10:40 p.m. and charged with Patronizing a Prostitute at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn located at 5 Freer Street.
  • Ciara A. Miller, 20, of Stony Point, was arrested on Feb. 5 at 10:40 p.m. and charged with Prostitution at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn located at 5 Freer Street.
  • Alexander J. Andino, 23, of Amityville, was arrested on Feb. 6 at 12:30 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unsafe Lane Change and Unlicensed Operation on Ocean Ave.
  • Karen Ann Lynster, 53, of Lynbrook, was arrested on Feb. 6 at 8:08 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (warrant), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and No Passing Zone on Merrick Road.
  • Sonja J. Martin, 38, of West Babylon, was arrested on Feb. 6 at 2:41 p.m. and charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Uninspected Motor Vehicle and No Front Plate on Sunrise Highway.
  • Christopher G. Simmons, 34, of St. Albans, was arrested on Feb. 7 at 10:20 p.m. and charged with Petit Larceny for an incident that occurred at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn located at 5 Freer Street on Jan. 6. Simmons was arrested at Nassau County Court located at 262 Old Country Rd. in Mineola.

Forgery

  • At 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, the manager of CVS Pharmacy (633 Merrick Rd.) reports that a male entered the store and purchased a Visa gift card for $200. The male paid for the card with ten $20 bills, which were later determined to be counterfeit. The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, 6’ 2’ tall, with black hair. He was wearing jeans a black ¾ length coat and a light blue baseball cap.

Petit Larceny

  • At 1:42 p.m. on Feb. 2, a complainant reports an unknown person(s) stole their Apple iPhone 4S from their backpack while they were playing basketball at Sportime located at 175 Merrick Rd. The value of the phone is $400.
  • The father of a Davison Avenue School student reported at 6:04 p.m. on Feb. 4 that an unknown person took their child's Apple iPhone 4S from their locker at the school located at at 49 Davison Ave. The value of the phone is $500.
  • At 6:07 p.m. on Feb. 6,  a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did cash a check written to the complainant in the amount of $215. The Lynbrook Detective Division is currently investigating.
  • The manager of Casey’s Clothing Store located at 28 Atlantic Ave. reported at 4:43pm on Feb. 7  that a male entered the store and purchased a pair of men’s socks for $3.95 dollars. The male paid for the socks with a $50 bill later determined to be counterfeit. The male is described as a black male in his 30’s, 6’ tall, 180lbs with a thin build and light complexion. He was wearing dark pants and a camel plaid coat with a scarf.

Identity Theft 

  • At 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 4, a complainant reports an unknown person(s) did make charges in the amount of $196.91 on their Bethpage Federal Credit Union debit card.
  •  At 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 5, a complainant reports an unknown person(s) did open and close a Bank of America, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable accounts in their name without their permission. The accounts were opened between 2011 and 2012.
  • At 3:28 p.m. on Feb. 7,  a complainant reports an unknown person(s) did open a T-Mobile account in their name and charge $436.61 to the account.

Criminal Mischief

  • At 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 10, a complainant reports an unknown person(s) did damage the door on their residence on St. Nicholas Street. The value of the damage is $300.
