Lynbrook PD: Suspicious Fire on Lawn

A weekly rundown of arrests and case reports from the Lynbrook Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department.

Petit larceny
Between 2 p.m. July 21 and 11 a.m. Aug. 5, a Bristol Street resident said 20 80mg Oxycontin and 30 30mg Oxycodene were stolen from his car's glove compartment.

Suspicious fire
At 4:34 p.m. on Aug. 11, a witness on Langdon Place said they saw unidentified people running from 47 Broadway where there was a small fire outside and another inside the building. The people running from the building were described as white males in their late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. A white female in her late teens to the early 20s with brown hair was also reportedly seen with the group. They were last seen running west on Langdon Place.

Forgery/Identity Theft
At 9 a.m. on July 18, a Pearsall Avenue resident said his identity was used and his signature forged to get $67,000 in fraudulent students loans.

Second-degree Burglary
Between 4 p.m. Aug. 12 and 12:45 a.m. Aug. 13, a 260 Broadway resident said he came home to a broken front door. He said $890 worth of jewelry, a children's jewelry box, a 47-inch Vizio flat screen TV, a Playstation 3, and $400 men's sneakers were stolen.
