Malverne Firefighters Rescue Injured Woman From Flipped Car

Accident occurred early Tuesday morning on exit ramp of Southern State Parkway.

A woman was injured early Tuesday morning in Malverne when her vehicle overturned on the Hempstead Avenue exit ramp of the Southern State Parkway.

The single-vehicle accident occurred just before 6:30 a.m. at Exit 17S and members of the Mavlerne Volunteer Fire Department, Malverne Police and the Nassau County Emergency Service units were quickly on the scene.

Malverne firefighters and Nassau EMS needed to remove the roof of the car to reach the injured woman, who was then transported to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre by a Nassau County ambulance.
