Malverne PD: NYC Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Ex-Girlfriend

A weekly rundown of crimes and arrested reported in the village of Malverne.

The following information was supplied by the Malverne Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

The Malverne Police Department responded to a 911 call on Nov. 29 for a male refusing to leave a Nassau Boulevard home. Upon the officers' arrival, it was discovered the suspect, an ex-boyfriend of the victim, had sexually assaulted the victim.

Prior to the officers arrival, the suspect, a New York City man, had left the scene, but was apprehended a short time later, at approximately 10:59 p.m., on Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook. He was arrested by Police Officers Joseph Chiafari, Brian Schmidt and Orlando Prado for the reported sexual abuse. The suspect was transported to the Malverne Police Department for processing, and then brought to Nassau County Police Headquarters for lodging until his arraignment at First District Court on Nov. 30.
