Man Arrested for 2009 Smoker's Choice Robbery

Queens man arrested Thursday for robbery that occurred on Nov. 21, 2009.

 

Police arrested a man Thursday for a robbery that occurred back in November of 2009 at the Smoker's Choice in Lynbrook.

According to detectives, on Nov. 21, 2009, two male subjects entered Smoker’s Choice, located at 350 Sunrise Highway, showed a handgun and tied up an employee with plastic ties. The subjects stole cash from the register and five cartons of cigarettes before fleeing on foot, and the victim was able to free himself and was not injured, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives report the arrest of Roger E. Earl, 51, of Queens. He was arrested on Thursday at 6:35 a.m. at his residence without incident.

Police said that they are still looking for the second subject.

Earl is being charged with first degree robbery and second degree robbery. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
