Man Arrested for Multiple Lynbrook Pharmacy Robberies

Joseph Chieffo allegedly robbed Pickers Pharmarcy twice in one week.

Nassau County Police arrested a Rockville Centre man Monday afternoon in Lynbrook after he allegedly attempted to steal Oxycodon from a pharmacy on Atlantic Avenue.

According to detectives, around 3:15 p.m., Joseph Chieffo, 27, entered Pickers Pharmacy, jumped over the counter and made verbal demands to the pharmacist for Oxycodon.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of pills, Chieffo fled the store on foot, police said. A short time later the he was located at the A&B Deli, located at 245 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, and was placed under arrest without incident.

According to police, proceeds from the robbery, which were in Chieffo’s possession at the time of the arrest, were recovered.

After further investigation by detectives it was determined that the defendant was also responsible for that occurred at the Pickers Pharmacy this past Saturday at 3:30 pm.

Chieffo is charged with two counts of robbery in the third degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
