Man Robbed at Gunpoint Inside Home in East Rockaway

Two men are being charged with first degree robbery following the arrest Tuesday night.

Nassau County Police have charged two men with robbery after police said they entered the home of an acquaintance in East Rockaway, displayed two handguns and took the victims cell phone and wallet.

Police said the 22-year-old male victim invited the two males to his home on Tuesday, May 28 at 8:30 p.m. A short while after, the suspects displayed the two handguns and took his phone and wallet, which contained a credit card and personal papers, according to police. The defendants then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.    

Police were able to apprehend and place the two suspects under arrest a short distance from the home, recovering the cell phone and wallet.

Dwight Dobson, 21, of Roosevelt, and Tawaun Gordon, 24, unknown address, were arrested and charged with first degree robbery. 

Police said that Gordon was transported to a local hospital after ingesting an unknown substance, and he will be arraigned as soon as practical. Dobson will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 29 at First District Court, Hempstead.
