Man Shot in Lakeview Robbery Attempt Sunday

A 32-year-old man was shot in the arm in Lakeview Sunday morning during a botched robbery attempt, Nassau County Police said. 

Police said that the victim was walking on Pinebrook Avenue in the vicinity of Pinebrook Court on Sunday at 12:15 a.m., when he was approached by an unknown male black subject. The subject demanded the victim's property and when the victim refused, police said he was shot in the left hand and bicep. 

The subject fled on foot in an unknown direction, while the victim was removed to an area hospital where he was admitted for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

There were no proceeds in the incident, police said. Police further described the suspect as 5’08” tall, weighing approximately 200 lbs.
