A Massapequa man died Saturday after losing control of his vehicle and smashing into a sign post and tree in Lynbrook, police said.
Robert A. Dearing, 25, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Ocean Avenue at 4:43 a.m. Saturday when he hit the sign post and tree at the intersection of Ruth Place, according to detectives. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, police said.
The victim’s vehicle was impounded for safety testing and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
