Wet roads and speed may have caused the driver of this minivan to lose control while exiting the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead Wednesday afternoon.
The minivan left the roadway on the northbound ramp to Hempstead Avenue at Exit 17N and jumped the guardrail. The driver was not injured but the vehicle was stuck atop the metal divider.
Lakeview volunteer firefighters and New York State Police were quickly on the scene.
