Missing Elderly Man Located

A Florida man was located by police shortly after he went missing in West Hempstead.

The Nassau County Police Department issued a Silver Alert for a 75-year-old man with dementia late Sunday night.

Police said Jose R. Urena, who was visiting the area from Florida, had last been seen on January 15 at 11 p.m. in West Hempstead. Urena was possibly heading to Corona, Queens on foot, according to police. He had last been seen wearing black pants, a hooded sweatshirt, green shirt and had no coat.

Nassau County Police announced that they located Urena a few hours after he went missing on early Monday morning
