A man was injured after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead Friday morning around 11:15 a.m.
The man was trapped underneath his motorcycle for a short time until firefighters were able to remove him to a nearby ambulance. His condition is unknown.
Traffic in the area was backed up into Malverne Village for a short time as northbound cars were diverted onto the parkway.
