Multiple Injuries in Vincent Avenue Gulf Crash

Two cars were involved in an accident at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Vincent Avenue Friday afternoon around 1 p.m.

At least two people were injured when their cars collided at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Vincent Ave. in Lynbrook Friday afternoon, sending one of the vehicles into a rock and street sign outside the gas station.

A white Toyota and a tan Nissan Altima were involved in the crash, as the Nissan appeared to be going east on Sunrise and crashed head on at the Gulf gas station, while the Toyota had extensive side damage.

The Vincent Ave. intersection is known as one of the more as the street does not have a traffic light. Cars may try to make a left turn to head west on Sunrise from Vincent, or may try to turn left or right on Sunrise to Vincent.

On Oct. 25, after a car collided with their ambulance on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

I'm sure some people think we have too many traffic lights on that stretch of Sunrise Highway, but this intersection definitely needs one too.

what made no sense is that denton ave already has traffic lights on both sides of sunrise, so why did it need a turning signal? vincent ave should have had traffic light and turning signals years ago. plus how about enforcing a realistic speed limit- who goes 30 mph on a six lane road?
