Nassau PD: DWI and Shoplifting Arrests, Packages Stolen From Stoop

A weekly rundown of crimes committed in West Hempstead, Lakeview, N. Lynbrook and the rest of Nassau's new Fourth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DWI

  • Luis D. Gomez, 39, of Hempstead, was arrested for DWI on Dec. 4 on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead.
  • Jarmaar J. Thomas, 36, of Elmont, was arrested for DWI on Dec. 6 on Central Avenue in North Valley Stream.
  • Thomas W. Alfano Jr, 22, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Dec. 8 for DWI at the intersection of S. Central Avenue and W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream.

ALCOHOL SALE TO MINOR

  • Working with Nassau County's Department of Consumer Affairs, Fourth Precinct officers conducted a "Project 21" initiative on Dec. 12, which resulted in the arrests of the following 10 people for selling alcohol to an underage agent. They were charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage and Unlawful Dealing with a Child. 
  1. Mohammed M. Hossain, 44, of Jamaica, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor at the convenience store connected to the OK Petroleum gas station located at 151 Hempstead Ave. in West Hempstead.
  2. Patel Hasmukh, 26, of Flushing, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Twins Deli, located at 1578 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  3. Sadhu Singh, 55, of Valley Stream, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor at the BP gas station located at 385 W. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream.
  4. Belarminio Almonte, 37, of Brooklyn, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Los Pinos Deli, located at 1316 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  5. Madat A. Gilani, 43, of Rego Park, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Shana Convenience Store, located at 120 E. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream.
  6. Malgorzata Flasinski, 46, of Franklin Square, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Elmont Wine and Liquor, located at 645 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  7. Thomas B. Isaac, 33, of Elmont, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from JKJ Wine & Liquor, located at 1553 Dutch Broadway in North Valley Stream.
  8. Shamila Khadoo, 40, of Jamaica, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Valley Stream Discount Beverage Store, located at 855 W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream.
  9. Vipulkumar R. Patel, 34, of Flushing, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Valley Deli & Grocery, located at 1019 Elmont Rd. in North Valley Stream.
  10. Muhammed Kamran, 24, of Kew Gardens, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from the Shell gas station/convenience store, located at 237-12 Linden Blvd. in Elmont.

PETIT LARCENY

  • Ani D. Bellehsen, 24, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Dec. 4 for shoplifting at the Old Navy in Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.
  • Waukena Rhodes, 25, of Hempstead, was arrested on Dec. 5 for shoplifting at the Kohl's store located at 3600 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside.
  • Sharoma S. Racktoo, 35, of Jamaica, was arrested on Dec. 5 for shoplifting at the Macy's store in Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.
  • An unknown person(s) removed two packages on Dec. 5 from the front stoop of a residence on Allen Avenue in Oceanside.
  • An unknown person(s) removed a license plate from a vehicle parked on Lexington Avenue in Oceanside between Dec. 5 and Dec. 7.
  • An unknown person removed a propane heater and tank from a residence on River Street in Oceanside between Dec. 6 and Dec. 7.
  • Floyd O. Springer, 59, of Rosedale, was arrested on Dec. 7 for shoplifting at the Sears store in Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.
  • James E. Vespoli, 48, of Elmont, was arrested on Dec. 9 for shoplifting at the Target store located at 500 W. Sunrise Hwy. in Valley Stream.
  • Irwine G. Clare Jr, 21, of Rosedale, was arrested on Dec. 9 for shoplifting at the Macy's store in Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

  • An unknown person(s) damaged the rear and side windows of a vehicle parked on Loretta Street in Inwood on Dec. 4.
  • An unknown person(s) damaged the rear window of one vehicle and the passenger side mirror of another car parked on Lawrence Avenue in Inwood between Dec. 7 and Dec. 8.
