Nassau PD: Home Burglaries, Disorderly Conduct Arrest

A weekly rundown of crimes committed in West Hempstead, Lakeview, N. Lynbrook and the rest of the Fifth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

BURGLARIES

A Brooklyn Avenue home in West Hempstead was burglarized on Aug. 17. Click for the story.

A home on Peter Street in Elmont was burglarized on Aug. 14 and another on Freeman Avenue was burglarized on Aug. 15.

Two Valley Stream homes -- one on Nottingham Avenue, and one on Fir Street -- were burglarized between Aug. 15 and 16.

A home on Hill Avenue in Elmont was burglarized sometime between Aug. 14 and 18.

A home on Clay Street in Elmont was burglarized on Aug. 18.

Publications Expediting Inc., on Meacham Avenue in Elmont was burglarized between Aug. 14 and 15. 

GRAND LARCENY

Two cars were stolen in West Hempstead between Aug. 15 and 16. One had been parked and the other on McKinley Street.

A car that had been parked on Keller Avenue in Elmont was stolen on Aug. 17.

Tires and rims were stolen off of two cars parked in Valley Stream -- one on Liberty Boulevard and another on Cedar Street -- and one on Burlington Place in North Valley Stream between Aug. 14 and 15.

LARCENIES

Items were removed from two cars -- one parked on Wool Avenue and another on Grange Street -- in Franklin Square between Aug. 13 and 14.

An unknown person stole property out of a vehicle parked on Valley Lane E in Valley Stream on Aug. 16.

An unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle parked on Village Avenue in Elmont and stole property from inside.

A victim reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked on Woodlawn Avenue in Valley Stream, and stole property sometime between Aug. 15 and 16.

A victim in Franklin Square reported that items were stolen from his unlocked car, which was parked in the driveway of his Poppy Avenue home between Aug. 17 and 18.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An unknown person broke the rear window of her vehicle, which was parked on Evergreen Drive in West Hempstead on Aug. 14, but no items were taken.

The side window of a vehicle parked on Fenworth Boulevard in Franklin Square was shattered sometime between Aug. 13 and 14.

A victim reported that an unknown person did broke the rear right passenger window of her vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of her Marc Drive home in Valley Stream on Aug. 14.

ARREST 

Nassau County Police also arrested William Manchester, 22, of West Hempstead in Long Beach on Aug. 18 charged him with disorderly conduct at Wisconsin Street and West Beech Street.
