Nassau PD: Shoplifters Arrested, Items Stolen from Parked Cars

A weekly rundown of crimes committed in West Hempstead, Lakeview, N. Lynbrook and the rest of the recently realigned Fourth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DWI

  • Daniel R. Horowitz, 23, of Port Washington, was arrested on Sept. 23 on Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach for Driving While Intoxicated.

GRAND LARCENIES

  • Tires and rims were stolen off a vehicle parked on Oaks Drive in Franklin Square between Sept. 19 and Sept. 20.

LARCENIES/OTHER THEFTS

  • An unknown person(s) stole various items from two cars parked on Langdon Boulevard in Lakeview between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. The suspect(s) broke the passenger side window of one of the cars. The other did not sustain any damage.
  • An unknown person removed items from an unlocked vehicle parked in the lot of a laundromat located on N. Central Avenue in Valley Stream on Sept. 22.
  • Naeem A. Bryan, 32, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Sept. 20 for shoplifting at the Burlington Coat Factory located at 345 Rockaway Tpke. in North Lawrence.
  • Kevin Tillery, 49, of Hempstead, was arrested on Sept. 21 for shoplifting at the Stop N Shop located at 3577 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside.
  • Annmarie Giordano, 51, of Baldwin, was arrested on Sept. 22 for shoplifting at the Loehmanns located at 1296 Broadway in Hewlett.
  • Shakeem S. Baker, 20, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on Sept. 22 for shoplifting at the Marshalls located at 345 Rockaway Tpke. in North Lawrence.
  • An unknown person(s) removed $10 in cash and a GPS unit from two cars parked on Queens Avenue in Atlantic Beach between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21.
  • A TV and three pairs of sunglasses were stolen by an unknown person(s) from a vehicle parked on 4th Street in Oceanside on Sept. 22.
  • Items were taken by an unknown(s) from a locked vehicle parked on Elmont Road in Elmont on Sept. 23.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

  • An unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle parked on Rose Avenue in Lakeview on Sept. 19, causing damage to the driver's side door trim piece around the door handle. No items were missing.
  • On Sept. 21, unknown person(s) damaged a window pane at Healthy Hair on Rockaway Avenue in Valley Stream.
  • A victim on Schroeter Avenue in Franklin Square reported on Sept. 19 that that an unknown suspect(s) damaged her vehicle by smashing the passenger side window. No items were taken from the vehicle.
  • After shopping at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on Sept. 19, a woman reported that upon returning to her vehicle, she observed two scratches on her driver's side door, which were not there prior to her parking the vehicle in the mall's lot.
  • A victim on Marlowe Road in Valley Stream reports that between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 an unknown person broke the driver's side window of his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.
  • An unknown person(s) damaged the driver's side windows of two vehicles parked on Franklin Place in Woodmere on Sept. 22 and ransacked one of the cars.
  • An unknown person(s) threw a plastic pipe at the window of an apartment located on Bayview Avenue in Inwood on Sept. 23, which caused it to break.
