Nassau PD: West Hempstead Man Arrested for DWI

A rundown of arrests and crimes reported in the Fourth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Arrests

  • On May 19 at 4:20 a.m., Orlando Batuta, 34, of West Hempstead, was arrested for DWI on Hempstead Turnpike near Morton Avenue in West Hempstead.
  • On May 19  at 6:10 a.m., Michael Medrano, 27, of Long Beach, was arrested for DWI on Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway.
  • On May 19 at 6 p.m., Jose Thottam, 60, of Elmont, was arrested for DWI on Hempstead Turnpike near Madison Avenue in Franklin Square.
Case Reports
  • Between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on May 14, an unknown suspect(s) stole a GPS out of a vehicle on Randolph Avenue in Franklin Square.
  • Between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on May 15, an unknown suspect(s) damaged the tail light of a vehicle on Ribbon Street in Franklin Square.
