Nassau Police Arrest Murder Suspect
Officers charge Hempstead resident Dung V. Tran with second-degree murder, Fugitive From Justice.
Nassau police have arrested a Hempstead man in connection with the murder of Maria Angelina Ayala, a 62-year-old woman on Merrick Road in Lynbrook on Sunday.
Police arrested Dung V. Tran, 38, of Front Street in Hempstead, N.Y., at 10:11 p.m. on Sunday (the arrest was reported to the media on Monday evening). He is being charged with murder in the second degree and Fugitive From Justice, an open warrant from Virginia.
Tran will be arraigned Tuesday morning in First District Court in Hempstead.
