National Night Out Event Scheduled for West Hempstead

Nassau County Executive and police team up for crime/drug prevention event.

County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Police Commissioner Thomas V. Dale announced that the Nassau County Police Department will be participating in the 29th Annual National Night Out a unique crime/drug prevention event on Aug. 7.

National Night Out is designed to Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The 5th Precinct will hold its National Night Out event at on Nassau Boulevard, West Hempstead beginning 7 p.m. A free concert will be provided by the Town of Hempstead Parks Department. The POP Unit and Nassau County Explorers will be on hand to distribute flyers.
