Ocean Avenue Partially Opened After Crash in Malverne

Two lanes of traffic still remain close as Verizon workers replace down utility pole Monday afternoon.

Nearly 10 hours after a car knocked out a utility pole and crashed into a home in Malverne, two lanes of traffic on Ocean Avenue still remained close but traffic was moving in both directions.

As of noon, Verizon workers were replacing the telephone pole that snapped when a Cadillac made impact early Monday morning. ( for the full story.)

Although the two southbound lanes were shutdown, safety cones split the two northbound lanes to allow traffic to move in both directions on the portion of Ocean Avenue that passes at Grossmann's in the village.
