One Injured After Driver Hits Parked Car in West Hempstead Driveway

Thursday morning crash sends one person to hospital.

Residents of a West Hempstead home were shaken from their sleep early Thursday morning after an SUV lost control on Madison Avenue and plowed into a car parked in their driveway.

The SUV left the roadway around 12:45 a.m., struck a tree, then smashed into a parked car in the driveway, sending it onto the front porch of the home.

The SUV then hit a second tree before coming to a halt.

West Hempstead firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene along with Nassau County Police.

One person was injured in the crash and was transported to an area hospital by fire department ambulance.
